About the role
You'll work across a variety of medium to large commercial security projects throughout Melbourne, primarily in the south-eastern and eastern suburbs. This position will suit an experienced technician who is confident with programming, commissioning, fault finding and problem solving, and who can take ownership of the technical delivery of a security system from installation through to final handover.
Key responsibilities
- Installation, programming and commissioning of complex Access Control, CCTV and Intruder Alarm systems
- Taking a lead technical role on medium to large commercial projects
- System upgrades, expansions and migrations
- Advanced fault finding and troubleshooting
- IP configuration and network troubleshooting
- Integration between security systems and associated technologies
- Testing, commissioning and final system handover
- Providing technical guidance to other technicians where required
- Working with Project Manager and Operations team to resolve technical issues
- Liaising professionally with customers, consultants, builders and other trades
About you
- 5+ years' experience within the electronic security industry
- Strong commercial Access Control experience
- Proven programming and commissioning capability
- Strong CCTV/VMS experience
- Intruder Alarm experience
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Strong understanding of IP networking
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical outcomes
- Ability to assist and mentor less experienced technicians
- Qualified communication and customer service skills
