One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a ERP Project Manager (SAP S/4HANA)

1. Contract Duration: 12 Months (09 Months initially + 03 Months extension)
2. Work Location: Only Canberra
3. Work Arrangement: All 5 Days a week onsite office
4. Eligibility: You must need to be Australian Citizen (Baseline or above clearance preferred)
5. Tentative Start Date: 14th Oct 2026
6. Working Hours: 8 hours a day/ 40 hours a week
Key duties and responsibilities: Project Planning & Governance:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive project plan covering all phases: design, build, data migration, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, go-live, and transition to business-as-usual.
- Establish and manage governance frameworks, including preparation of reports for the ERP Steering Committee, the Executive Board, and other governance forums.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with internal business areas (Finance, HR, Procurement, ICT) to capture requirements and ensure system alignment.
- Build strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and whole-of-government stakeholders to manage delivery outcomes.
- Act as a key point of contact for steering committee discussions, providing evidence-based advice on risks, dependencies, and decision points.
Delivery & Risk Management:
- Oversee all project phases, ensuring milestones are met on time, within scope and budget, and at the required quality.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, with timely escalation and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, PSPF, ISM, and department digital standards.
Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team including business analysts, change managers, and technical specialists.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing workplace,
providing direction and mentoring to support delivery excellence.
Quality Assurance & Reporting:
- Track and report progress against milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.
- Prepare executive-level briefings and status reports, ensuring transparency to senior stakeholders and committees.
Change & Adoption:
- Develop and implement change management and communications strategies to support user adoption.
- Work with the People and Culture team and Change Manager to coordinate training activities, ensuring equitable access and effective learning outcomes.
- Capture lessons learned through post-implementation reviews.
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience delivering SAP S/4HANA projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering ICT implementation projects in the Australian Public Service.
- Strong track record of managing full project lifecycle phases (requirements, design, data migration, UAT, training, deployment, and post-go-live).
- Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including participation in steering committees and executive-level governance.
- Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive briefings and complex reports.
- Solid understanding of APS corporate processes (finance, HR, procurement) and ICT governance.
Desirable:
- Project management certifications.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth cyber and security frameworks (PSPF, ISM).
