A multidisciplinary team provides coordinated, trauma-informed support tailored to individual goals, while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, accountability, and clinical governance. YAY Today works collaboratively with participants, families, allied health professionals, and hospital teams to deliver flexible support models that evolve with participant needs.

Role Description This on-site role, based in Melbourne, VIC, is for Experienced SIL & Complex Support Workers supporting NDIS participants with a range of needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing high-quality, person-centred support in Supported Independent Living environments, assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and community participation. Workers will support participants with complex and high-intensity needs, follow clinical guidelines and behaviour support plans, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with NDIS and organizational standards.





The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and other stakeholders, promoting participant safety, dignity, independence, and choice. Staff are expected to contribute to a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented environment, actively participate in supervision and training, and uphold safeguarding and risk management practices.

Qualifications

- Experience as Support Workers in SIL, complex care, or high-intensity NDIS environments, with a robust focus on person-centred practice.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills to build trust, empower participants, and work collaboratively with families, teams, and external partners.
- Commitment to Safeguarding, risk management, and maintaining participant safety, dignity, and rights in all aspects of support.
- Clear and professional Communication skills, including accurate documentation, reporting, and liaison with clinical and allied health teams.
- Ability to use Technical Support tools such as care management systems, digital documentation platforms, and basic assistive technologies.
- Relevant qualification in disability, community services, mental health, nursing, or a related field (e.g., Certificate III/IV or higher).
- Understanding of NDIS frameworks, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice, and behaviour support principles.
- Current Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening clearance, First Aid/CPR, and any other required compliance checks.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
