Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) is the national body representing over 17,000 members in the speech pathology profession. SPA supports and regulates the ethical, clinical and professional standards of its members as well as lobbying and advocating on behalf of all Australians living with communication and swallowing difficulties. We’re looking for a commercially minded and solutions-focused skilled to join our Finance team in a newly created role.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner position offers a unique opportunity to combine finance business partnering, project management, systems improvement and contract management within one role. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple disciplines, partnering with stakeholders, and driving practical improvements that enhance organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities In this role, you will:
- Partner with stakeholders to identify business needs, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop business cases, financial models, and cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and project financial management activities.
- Lead and coordinate projects from planning through to implementation and review.
- Gather business requirements, map processes, and implement practical solutions.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate business-led system implementations, upgrades, testing, and user readiness activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through systems, automation, and data insights.
- Manage relationships with IT service providers and technology vendors.
- Support procurement activities, supplier management, contract reviews, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain project and technology records while supporting governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards completion).
- Experience in finance business partnering, commercial analysis, business analysis, project delivery, or a similar role.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and driving process improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience supporting procurement processes, supplier management, contract reviews, and compliance activities.
Desirable
- Experience within a Big Four accounting firm, consulting environment, or large corporate organisation.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, iMIS, or systems implementation projects.
- Exposure to reporting and business intelligence tools.
