This is a Permanent role located at Torrens University Australia's Surry Hills, Sydney Campus. You'll join a strong, values-driven finance team known for its collaboration, capability and supportive culture. This role offers exposure beyond core accounting, partnering with teams such as Business Intelligence and other finance teams while contributing to process improvements, automation and smarter ways of working.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations across various areas which may include cash, intercompany, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other financial statement line items
- Assistance with preparation of supplementary monthly and quarterly close deliverables
- Assistance with periodic internal and external audit requirements
- Assistance with external financial reporting requirements including financial statements
- Assistance with ad hoc financial requests as required
- Identification and implementation of improvements relating to close process
- Work closely with the FP&A; team to analyse and understand actuals/inform the forecast
- Adherence to internal control (SOX) requirements including maintenance of critical reports and spreadsheets
About you
- Minimum 3+ years' relevant finance experience
- Current CA or CPA designation is mandatory
- Up to date and solid technical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards (US GAAP exposure is an advantage)
- Advanced Excel
- PeopleSoft (would be an advantage)
- Experience operating within a well-established internal control setting in medium to large organisations
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
- Problem solving skills
- High energy and proactive
