Salary: Hourly rate equivalent to $130,000 per annum An established and growing organisation is seeking a capable Financial Accountant to join its finance team on a fixed-term basis, providing parental leave cover. Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this hands-on role will support the day-to-day finance function across financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations and transactional finance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who can quickly integrate into a business, work autonomously and deliver high-quality outcomes to tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare journals and perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Support financial reporting and management reporting activities.
- Assist with consolidated reporting and intercompany reconciliations.
- Provide support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepare information and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and outstanding items.
- Support financial analysis and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to support operational and reporting needs.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or comparable accounting role.
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Exposure to both commercial finance and/or professional practice environments.
- CPA or CA qualified, or working towards completion, highly regarded.
- Experience using a large ERP system and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
