Due to ongoing and expected growth across the business, we have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Forklift/Reach Stacker Operator - Yard Hand to be based in our Karratha location reporting to the Coastal Operations Manager.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day movement and management of freight throughout the yard, including mining equipment, tyres, belts, containers and general freight.

The role will involve operating forklifts and reach stackers, coordinating freight movements, maintaining stock and storage areas, completing documentation and ensuring a safe and well-organised yard.

Basic mechanical knowledge will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive, inspect and dispatch freight, including belts, tyres, mining equipment, containers and general freight.
- Safely operate forklifts, reach stackers and other material-handling equipment.
- Load, unload, transport and stack freight safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities with drivers, transport operators and other logistics personnel.
- Ensure freight is correctly identified, labelled, stored and prepared for transport.




- Apply compliant load restraint techniques in accordance with company procedures and the National Load Restraint Guide.
- Complete pre-start inspections and operational checks and report faults promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with stock control.
- Coordinate designated storage areas and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Complete freight documentation, inventory records, hazard reports and other required paperwork.
- Transfer vehicles for servicing requirements when required.
- Undertake ad hoc local freight pickups as directed by the Depot Supervisor.
- Follow all company safety, environmental and operational procedures.

Criteria To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in a similar yard, freight or logistics role.
- Experience with freight receivals and despatch.
- Current Forklift and Reach Stacker tickets – essential.
- Valid HR Driver's Licence.
- Experience operating heavy forklifts and/or reach stackers in a transport, mining or industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Initiative, a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Willingness to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol assessment.
- Ability to provide a valid National Police Clearance.
