## Role Overview

As a B1 Boilermaker, you’ll fabricate, assemble, repair, and maintain metal components and structures for industrial and commercial projects. This role suits a practical tradesperson with up to 5 years’ experience who takes pride in accurate fabrication, safe work practices, and delivering to specification.
## Key Responsibilities

* Read and interpret drawings, plans, and job specifications
* Fabricate and assemble steel components (cutting, shaping, drilling, grinding, fitting)
* Perform welding tasks (MIG/TIG/Stick as required) to meet quality and safety standards
* Carry out repairs and maintenance on structural steelwork, plant, and equipment
* Conduct measurements, marking-out, and fit-up to tight tolerances
* Use workshop and site tools safely (hand tools, power tools, oxy/thermal cutting equipment)
* Complete basic job documentation, checklists, and quality records as required
* Maintain housekeeping standards and care for tools and equipment
* Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and other trades to meet deadlines

## Required Skills & Experience

* 0–5 years’ experience as a boilermaker/fabricator (workshop and/or site-based)




* Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and perform accurate measuring and marking-out
* Competency in welding and fabrication processes relevant to the role
* Strong understanding of safe work practices, including hazard identification and risk control
* Good communication skills and a reliable, punctual work ethic
* Physical capability to perform manual tasks in workshop and site environments

## Preferred (Nice to Have)

* Australian-recognised trade qualification (Boilermaker/Welder/Fabrication) or equivalent experience
* High Risk Work Licence (e.g., LF forklift, DG dogging, RB rigging) where applicable
* Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
* Experience with structural steel, plate work, and general repairs
* Ability to pass site medicals and/or drug & alcohol screening if required by clients

## Safety & Quality Expectations

* Follow all WHS requirements, SWMS/JSA, and site rules
* Use PPE correctly and maintain a safety-first mindset
* Produce work that meets specification, weld quality requirements, and finish standards
* Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly
