Shape the Future of Critical Technology
Want to kickstart your engineering career at the absolute cutting edge of the global green energy transition?
At Lynas Rare Earths, we are the world's only significant supplier of separated rare earths outside of China. Our state-of-the-art Kalgoorlie Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF) is a highly specialized, world-class chemical processing hub. We don't just run automated production lines; we are building the future of advanced manufacturing, electric vehicles, and wind energy.
We are looking for a forward-thinking Graduate Instrumentation Engineer to join our elite Kalgoorlie Maintenance Team. If you love solving complex physical puzzles with digital solutions, this is your launchpad.
The Gig: What You’ll Do
This isn't a "get the coffee" graduate program. From day one, you will bridge the gap between heavy industrial processes and smart technology. Over an immersive 2 years, you will learn to maintain, calibrate, and optimize our highly automated REPF infrastructure.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our expert mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams, you will:
- Master Complex Automation: Get hands-on with heavy-duty Process Control, PLCs, DCS, and SCADA networks.
- Tame the Data: Learn how advanced analytical sensors and computer networks track temperature, pressure, level, and flow to control massive physical processes.
- Solve Real-World Riddles: Use circuit theory, digital systems, and data analytics to optimize operations.
- Champion Safety: Learn how elite engineering precision goes hand-in-hand with an uncompromised, gold-standard safety culture.
Who You Are
You are a sharp, tech-forward graduate who values precision, structure, and keeping people protected. You bring:
- The Degree: A tertiary qualification in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems, Industrial Automation, or Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering.
- The Baseline: A solid fundamental understanding of industrial automation networks and system architecture.
- The Edge: Any exposure to chemical or heavy industrial environments is a massive plus, but your drive to learn matters most.
- The Logistics: Full Australian working rights and a valid WA Class C Manual Driver’s license (minimum).
- The Lifestyle: You already live locally in the vibrant Goldfields region (or are ready to call Kalgoorlie home) and love the predictability of a 5/2/4/3 roster.
- The Safety Standard: Ready to maintain a clean-shaven site requirement to successfully pass standard respirator fit testing (AS 1715:2009).
