Your chance

Specialist teachers delivering a broad range of services to school community members, contributing to the development of a comprehensive student support and wellbeing program that is responsive to the needs of the school community. Guidance Officers are required to provide this service in collaboration with other school-based personnel and external support providers in a variety of educational contexts.

Key Responsibilities

The Guidance Officer will play a key role in:

Providing counselling, assessment and individual support to students.

Supporting students, families and school staff with educational, behavioural, social, emotional and wellbeing matters.

Conducting student observations and psychoeducational assessments and making recommendations for appropriate adjustments and interventions.

Coordinating case management, referrals and support for students with diverse and complex needs.





Working collaboratively with school teams, families, external service providers and regional personnel.

Supporting schools in responding to student protection matters, critical incidents and risk management processes.

Developing and implementing preventative and early intervention programs that respond to the needs of each school community.
