Woodridge State High School are seeking an experienced, innovative and highly collaborative Head of Department - Science to provide strategic and instructional leadership across our Science faculty. The successful applicant will lead a dedicated team of teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality Science programs that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, scientific literacy and strong student outcomes.

We are looking for an inspirational leader who is passionate about Science education, committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and able to create a positive, collaborative and future-focused faculty culture. This is a temporary full-time position until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Educational Leadership:



Lead the department in developing and delivering a shared vision that promotes high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes for all students.

- High Expectations and Continuous Improvement: Set high standards for student and staff performance while fostering a culture of professional growth, lifelong learning and ongoing improvement.

- Inclusive and Equitable Practices: Embed socially just, inclusive and supportive practices that promote equity, participation and positive outcomes for every student.

- Collaboration and Partnerships: Develop strong partnerships with students, parents, staff, government agencies and community organisations to strengthen student learning and wellbeing.

- Strategic and Resource Management: Provide future-focused strategic leadership, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies, and effectively manage staffing, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve departmental priorities.
