Executive Leadership Position
Concordia Lutheran College is a leading independent K–12 Lutheran school in Toowoomba, recognised for its strong academic outcomes, inclusive culture and commitment to Christian values. We are seeking an experienced, visionary and values‑driven Head of Junior College to lead our Prep–Year 6 campus and Early Learning Centre (Kindergarten and OSHC). This Executive Leadership role is central to shaping the educational direction, culture and operational excellence of the Junior College, ensuring alignment with the College’s strategic priorities and whole‑of‑College vision.
About the Role The Head of Junior College is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Principal. The role provides strategic, cultural, educational and operational leadership across the Junior College and Early Learning Centre, ensuring high‑quality learning, wellbeing, compliance and community engagement.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading the strategic vision, culture and educational direction for Prep–Year 6 and Early Learning Centre services.
- Providing visible, values‑based leadership that promotes excellence, wellbeing, inclusion and Christian ethos.
- Overseeing curriculum, assessment, reporting and instructional practice in partnership with the Leader of Curriculum (Junior College).
- Ensuring compliance with QCAA, ACARA, NQF, Child Safe Standards and all relevant legislation.
- Overseeing Early Learning Centre operations, governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Managing staff across the full employment lifecycle, including recruitment, induction, performance development and professional learning.
- Overseeing student wellbeing, behaviour frameworks,
restorative practices and inclusive education.
- Strengthening partnerships with families and representing the Junior College at key events, enrolment interviews and community forums.
- Leading risk, compliance, WHS, emergency management and policy governance.
- Managing budgets, resources and facilities planning in alignment with strategic priorities.
- Ensuring seamless K–12 alignment, particularly transition from Year 6 to Year 7.
- Providing regular reporting to the Principal, Executive Leadership Team and College Council.
Leadership Scope
- Executive leadership of the Junior College (Prep–Year 6) and Early Learning Centre.
- Collaborative supervision of Sport Coordinator and Coordinator of Music Performance.
- Strategic influence across whole‑of‑College initiatives and K–12 alignment.
Direct line management of:
- Leader of Curriculum (Junior College)
- Leader of Pastoral Care & Diverse Learning (Junior College)
- Early Learning Centre Service Leaders
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should demonstrate
- Tertiary teaching qualifications and full (or eligible) QCT registration.
- Senior leadership experience in a Junior College and/or K–12 setting.
- Proven success in curriculum leadership (Prep–Year 6), assessment and reporting.
- Experience leading wellbeing, behaviour frameworks and restorative practices.
- Experience overseeing or working within Early Learning Centre services (highly regarded).
- Demonstrated capability in risk, compliance, WHS and policy governance.
- Postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership (desirable).
- Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
in Lutheran education (desirable).
- Current First Aid/CPR, Child Protection/Safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Blue Card and current driver’s licence.

- Complete mandatory safeguarding training and hold a valid Blue Card.
Eligibility Requirements
- Australian working rights.
- QCT registration
- Valid Blue Card.
- First Aid/CPR and Child Protection training (or willingness to obtain).
- Current driver’s licence.
