About Sonic Clinical Services
Sonic Clinical Services (SCS) is part of Sonic Healthcare, one of the world’s leading healthcare providers. Across Australia, SCS brings together a diverse network of healthcare businesses and professionals focused on delivering high-quality primary and occupational healthcare services.
With operations across multiple states and a large, geographically dispersed workforce, SCS offers the opportunity to build your HR capability within a complex, purpose-led and people-focused healthcare environment.
The Opportunity An opportunity has become available for a hands-on HR Business Partner to join the People & Culture team, supporting operational stakeholders across WA and QLD.
This role is well suited to an experienced HR Generalist ready to step into Business Partnering, or an existing HR Business Partner who enjoys a broad, operational generalist remit. You’ll work closely with State Managers, Business Managers and operational leaders, providing practical advice and coaching across everyday people matters.
You’ll have genuine ownership of your stakeholder portfolio, while being supported by an experienced national Human Resources team. The setting is stable, the stakeholder relationships are well established, and there is plenty of opportunity to continue building your confidence and capability as a Business Partner.
You’ll also join at an interesting time for SCS, with the upcoming implementation of a new HRIS set to change many of the organisation’s current HR processes and ways of working. The HR Business Partner will support leaders through this transition and help embed new processes as they are introduced.
The Role
This is a true generalist role where you’ll be close to the day-to-day operations of the business. You’ll coach managers through people matters, provide practical HR advice and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Support managers across performance, conduct, employee relations and day-to-day people matters.
- Coach operational leaders through people issues and help build their confidence in managing teams.
- Assist with workplace investigations, consultation processes and organisational changes.
- Provide practical advice on Modern Awards, employment conditions and HR policies.
- Support annual remuneration, performance and other recurring HR processes.
- Prepare and use workforce reporting to help managers understand trends within their teams.
- Contribute to practical HR projects and initiatives across the broader People & Culture team.
- Prepare and facilitate people-focused sessions for operational managers throughout the year.
- Support managers with a new HRIS implementation rollout.
About You
- Qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
- Practical exposure to employee relations matters such as performance, misconduct and investigations.
- Working knowledge of Modern Awards and Australian employment legislation.
- Strong relationship-building, coaching and influencing skills.
- Confidence working directly with operational managers and adapting to different levels of manager capability.
- The ability to work autonomously, stay organised and follow matters through to completion.
- A practical, down-to-earth approach and willingness to remain hands-on with both advisory and administrative HR work.
Experience within a multi-site, healthcare, retail or similarly operational workforce would be beneficial. Previous exposure to a HRIS implementation would be a bonus, but is not essential. Why Join Sonic Clinical Services?
For someone looking to build their career in Business Partnering, this role offers a strong combination of autonomy, breadth and support.
- Take ownership of your own stakeholder portfolio while having an experienced national HR team around you.
- Build broader ER and Business Partnering experience across a large, multi-site workforce.
- Gain exposure to a major HRIS rollout and support managers through a significant change in HR processes.
- Work with established operational leaders and develop your coaching and stakeholder management capability.
- Perth CBD location and flexible working arrangements once established in the role.
- Access discounted private health insurance, selected pathology and imaging benefits, retail discounts, discounted gift cards and novated leasing.
