Your new role The Support for Carers Program provides tailored and flexible support to unpaid carers across Victoria, helping them access services that meet their individual needs and circumstances. Support includes counselling, respite, recreational activities, referrals and capacity-building services.
The Additional Respite for Carers Program expands access to flexible respite services, helping reduce barriers and provide greater support to unpaid carers and the people they care for across Victoria.

Your skills and experience
You will bring relevant qualifications and experience, along with a strong understanding of the needs of carers and the people they support.
You’ll Have
- Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, Disability Studies, Allied Health, or relevant demonstrated industry experience.
- Understanding of the challenges and issues associated with the caring role.
- Experience or knowledge supporting older people, younger people and people with disability.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Knowledge of community inclusion and participation, with experience responding to community needs or identified service gaps.
- Demonstrated experience conducting community and/or health assessments using a strengths-based approach and developing care plans.
- Experience working collaboratively with consumers, carers and relevant agencies to achieve individual goals.
