We are seeking a part-time Internal Communications Specialist to help shape our internal communications strategy at Cement Australia. This is more than just polished emails for our head office. We are looking for real, working communication that reaches everyone across our business, including frontline and shift-based teams who don't sit at a desk or check email during their workday.
Right now, there is no dedicated internal communications function. We're also not a one-size-fits-all business. With your expertise, you will have the opportunity to design internal communications from the ground up that will meet the needs of our diverse business. Whether it is strategy, a practical toolkit or advising our leaders – your impact will be real and visible.
Your Opportunity
This is a part-time, contract role (approx. 20 hours/week for initial 16-week term) with genuine scope to shape how we communicate as an organisation, not just execute someone else's plan.
As our Internal Communications Specialist you will:
- Partner with the Executive team to develop an internal communications strategy
- Build a practical toolkit of templates, guides and standards our teams
- Create tailored strategies for reaching frontline and EA-covered employees, including those with limited computer access or varying digital literacy
- Support our Employee Value Proposition project and the initiatives being developed and implemented across our business
- Guide leaders and develop their capability in communicating well with their teams
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in an internal communications function within a related heavy-industry environment
- Genuine interest and experience in reaching frontline/ blue collar employees, shift-based and/or lower-digital-access employees
- Strong plain-language writing skills – you can turn dense or corporate content into something people actually read
- Experience designing templates, style guides or communications standards from scratch
- Comfortable working autonomously in a part time capacity
- Confident, credible communicator with leaders at all levels
