About the Role
This position assists with the ongoing management of Junior Medical Officer training programs, providing administrative and operational support for the delivery of training and orientation at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. The role involves significant liaison with the Director of Prevocational Education & Training (DPET) and Directors of Training for Registrar level positions.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and maintain the Education and Training timetable for JMOs and other clinical staff, effectively communicating with participants to plan upcoming education and training activities, whilst maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organise speakers, catering, pagers, attendance checklists, and evaluation forms for training and orientation activities.
- Manage the co-ordination of WWHS educational activities for medical staff, utilising the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) online Learning System.
- Manage the HETI allocated prevocational training grant.
- Organise the JMO Careers evening, including communication with participating consultants on scheduled speaking times, organising the events room and catering, and advertising the event.
- Organise and manage JMO and Registrar term rotation orientations.
- Organise and manage orientation week for Interns at the start of the clinical year.
- Manage the process associated with HETI accreditation.
Essential Criteria
- It is the responsibility of each staff member to comply with mandatory training requirements as directed by National, State and Local Legislation and Policy.
- It is the responsibility of each staff member to be aware of the contents of the Policy and Procedures Manual/Database(s) for their Department and to work within the principles contained therein.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated relevant administration experience in an workplace concerned with high quality service delivery and the provision of support to administrative and/or educational programs.
- Demonstrated high standard of organisational skills including ability to prioritise, achieve deadlines under pressure, and work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated computing skills including the ability to work with a range of software packages, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated high standard of oral and written communication skills including the ability to produce timely and accurate documents and reports.
- Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes and evidence of a current Class C drivers licence.
