About the role To manage the G-Lab concrete, aggregate/soils and chemical laboratory and field testing operations. This includes compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements for sampling and testing, checking and releasing test reports and NATA certificates, health and safety aspects as they relate to laboratory and field-testing operations and performance of laboratory and field-testing personnel, and growing the G-Lab business function.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the three laboratories within the G-Lab Materials Testing Services Laboratory and operate within the financial targets set by the business
- Supervise and manage departments and staff, including direct supervision of two Laboratory Supervisors
- Implement, monitor and comply with all G-Lab OH&S; policies and procedures
- Establish, maintain and implement the quality control testing programs
- Ensure the G-Lab Laboratory complies with the requirements of NATA and Quality Accreditation
- Check and issue accredited test certificates and statistical results with emphasis on accuracy and expediency
- Manage and control the receipt of testing specimens
- Arrange the purchasing of all consumable goods and maintenance of equipment
- Grow and manage the G-Lab testing environment for both internal and external customers
- Actively participate in planning,
setting up and managing required tests and improving testing efficiencies
About you
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Management
- Suitable qualification in concrete technology or similar
- Previous experience of similar work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High-level proficiency with MS Office programs
- Capacity to work independently
- Technical skills in Concrete/Aggregates/Soils
- NATA signatory status
