Wade Sawmill is seeking reliable and motivated Labourer to join our pine mill team on a full-time basis, working from 6.00 am to 2.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
These hands-on positions are suited to physically fit individuals who are reliable, safety-focused and willing to learn. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to receive internal training across various areas of the sawmill and progress into machine operator positions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform general labouring duties across various areas of the pine mill.
- Handle, sort, stack and move timber products safely and efficiently.
- Assist machine operators with production activities as required.
- Learn to operate a range of sawmill plant, machinery and equipment.
- Monitor timber products and identify quality issues.
- Follow production instructions and assist the team in meeting daily production requirements.
- Maintain clean, organised and secure work areas.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Identify and report equipment, maintenance or operational issues.
- Contribute to a positive, productive and team-focused working environment.
Experience & Attributes:
- Previous labouring, manufacturing or sawmill experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- A strong willingness to learn and undertake internal training.
- Physically capable of completing the manual-handling and physical requirements of the position.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to consistent attendance.
- Solid awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to follow instructions and safe work procedures.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a hands-on production environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude or previous experience operating plant and machinery will be highly regarded.
