Apprentices will gain hands-on experience and training at Synergy's Muja Power Station while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Apprenticeship Opportunities We are offering apprenticeship opportunities across two key trade areas:
Electrical Engineering
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Electrician
- Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitting)
You'll combine practical workplace experience with classroom-based training at South Regional TAFE, developing the skills, knowledge and experience needed to build a successful career as an electrical or mechanical tradesperson. What You'll Be Doing Electrical Apprentice You'll Develop Skills And Experience In:
- Working with electrical equipment and systems
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs
- Supporting the safe and reliable operation of plant and equipment
- Using tools, equipment and technical information
- Applying safe work practices in an industrial environment
Mechanical Fitter Apprentice You'll Develop Skills And Experience In:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment
- Assembling and disassembling machinery and components
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
- Using hand and power tools
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance
- Working safely within an industrial environment
Safety will be a key focus throughout your apprenticeship. You don't need previous trade experience. We're looking for people with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and an interest in how things work.

About You We're looking for people who:
- Have completed Year 11 or 12 (or equivalent) and have completed, or be currently working towards, a relevant Certificate II qualification or pre-apprenticeship
- Are interested in electrical, mechanical or technical work and keen to build a career in trades
- Enjoy solving problems and understanding how things work
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety
- Are motivated to learn and build a career in the electrical or mechanical trades
- Bring a positive attitude to teamwork, learning, and continuous improvement by asking questions, applying feedback, and learning from experienced tradespeople
- Can meet the requirements of a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
Previous work experience demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn is advantageous, but not essential.
