About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Dentist to join our practice on the Gold Coast, Queensland. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to take on a leadership role within our dental team whilst delivering exceptional patient care.

As Lead

Dentist, you will be responsible for clinical excellence and helping to shape the future direction of our practice. This role combines hands-on dentistry with strategic oversight, making it ideal for a clinician who is passionate about both patient outcomes and team development.

Key responsibilities

- Provide high-quality clinical dental care across a range of procedures, maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety
- Lead and mentor dental team members, including the support staff, fostering a collaborative and professional workplace
- Oversee clinical protocols, infection control procedures, and compliance with dental regulatory requirements
- Contribute to practice planning and strategy, working with management to develop clinical objectives and improve patient outcomes
- Manage patient relationships and treatment planning, ensuring transparent communication and informed consent
- Maintain detailed and accurate clinical records in compliance with relevant legislation and best practice standards
- Support the training and development of junior dental professionals
- Participate in quality assurance activities and ongoing professional development within the practice

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Australian Dental Board and relevant state licensing for Queensland
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in general dentistry or specialist dental practice
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a dental practice
- Strong clinical skills across general dental procedures, with the ability to manage complex cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, inspire and support team members




- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and staying current with clinical advances
- Knowledge of dental practice management systems and electronic health record keeping
- A patient-centered approach to care with a focus on clinical excellence and safety
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Qualified conduct and adherence to the Dental Board of Australia's Code of Conduct
- Preferred: Experience in private practice management or practice ownership
- Preferred: Advanced training in restorative, cosmetic or implant dentistry
