The Legal Counsel, Asia-Pacific provides regional legal support across the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and emerging Asia-Pacific markets. The role supports commercial, clinical, regulatory, distribution, market access, procurement, and operational matters and coordinates with Privacy, Compliance, Intellectual Property, and product counsel colleagues.

This is a broad, junior-to-mid-level regional counsel role for a lawyer seeking exposure to pharmaceutical law across a diverse and growing region, with the opportunity to support products and services across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and emerging Asia-Pacific markets.

Key Accountabilities

- Draft, review, and negotiate Asia-Pacific commercial, distribution, services, procurement, clinical, and partnership




- Advise on Asia-Pacific product, market access, clinical, regulatory, tender, Healthcare Professional/Key Opinion Leader, and healthcare compliance issues under supervision of the Assistant General Counsel, International.
- Support local implementation of global legal policies, templates, playbooks, and compliance programs across Asia-Pacific
- Coordinate with Asia-Pacific Compliance (Senior Manager, Asia-Pacific Compliance) on regional code compliance, transparency, Healthcare Professional interaction, and Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption matters.
- Coordinate with Global Privacy & Information Security Counsel on regional privacy and data protection
- Support Therapeutic Goods Administration regulatory interactions, Australian healthcare regulatory frameworks, and Asia-Pacific-specific regulatory requirements.
- Escalate novel, complex, or high-risk legal issues promptly to the Assistant General Counsel,
- Support Asia-Pacific employment law matters, local dispute resolution, and operational legal questions as
- Provide end-to-end regional product support from R&D; partnerships and clinical trials through commercialization, market access, tenders, local vendor arrangements, and government-facing matters.
- Serve as the dedicated Asia-Pacific legal bridge for regional teams while coordinating with privacy, compliance, IP, product, and international counsel.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification; admitted to practice in Australia or another Asia-Pacific jurisdiction.
- 4-7 years of legal practice with Asia-Pacific healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or commercial contracting experience preferred.
- Prior in-house experience at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare company strongly
- Familiarity with the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Medicines Australia, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (Japan), and/or Asia-Pacific regulatory environments preferred.




- Solid contract drafting and negotiation skills across multiple Asia-Pacific
