Aurizon is growing its Avon Rail Operations team to meet growing customer demand and has multiple full-time, permanent opportunities available for Qualified Locomotive Drivers. This residential role is based in Northam, WA, and is open to applicants willing to relocate permanently.

Offering 5 weeks annual leave, this role has the potential to see you earn over $200k per year!

Relocation support To support your move, Aurizon is offering a $20,000 upfront relocation assistance payment, along with 8 weeks of paid accommodation.

This opportunity will suit someone who brings strong teamwork, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness, and a genuine commitment to customer service.

About the role:

- Operate locomotives across mainline, shunting and marshalling activities.
- Examine and certify trains to ensure they are ready for safe departure.
- Work in line with Aurizon’s safety, operational standards and procedures.
- Support reliable operations by maintaining a strong focus on on-time running.
- Prepare for and conduct locomotive brake testing as required.
- Deliver high-quality customer service that supports Aurizon’s business objectives.

About you:

- Demonstrated commitment to safety and Aurizon’s Safety Strategy: “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe”.
- Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience with the WA Safeworking System is highly regarded.




- Extensive locomotive driving experience in freight and/or heavy haulage operations.
- Certificate IV in Rail Operations, or an equivalent qualification.
- Current unrestricted Class C driver’s licence.
