Interpack is looking for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join our Engineering and Maintenance team at our Deer Park manufacturing facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or other high-speed continuous manufacturing environments who enjoys fault-finding, solving problems and keeping production equipment performing at its best.

improve reliability and work with Production and Engineering to make our operation better.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play an important part in ensuring our production equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

Your responsibilities will include

- Responding to mechanical breakdowns and production issues
- Fault-finding and diagnosing equipment problems
- Identifying root causes rather than simply repairing recurring faults
- Completing preventative and planned maintenance activities
- Inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment
- Completing machinery adjustments to maintain optimum production performance
- Repairing and overhauling mechanical components and assemblies
- Carrying out bearing, gearbox, pneumatic, hydraulic and general mechanical repairs
- Assisting with machine changeovers and production requirements
- Completing equipment isolations and following all Lock Out / Tag Out requirements
- Identifying machinery operating below standard and recommending corrective actions
- Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams
- Supporting machinery upgrades, installations and continuous-improvement projects
- Maintaining associated plant, equipment and site infrastructure
- Recording maintenance work and equipment issues accurately
- Helping develop and improve preventative-maintenance programs
- Supporting initiatives aimed at reducing breakdowns and unplanned production downtime
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, food safety, workplace safety and quality

About You

We are looking for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in keeping equipment running properly and enjoys working in a busy manufacturing environment. To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
- Previous maintenance experience within FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or high-speed manufacturing
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with automated and continuous production machinery
- A strong understanding of preventative and planned maintenance
- Ability to identify root causes and recommend practical long-term solutions
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes,



conveyors and mechanical drive systems
- Solid understanding of workplace safety, isolation and safe maintenance practices
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production personnel
- Ability to remain calm and methodical when responding to production breakdowns
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new equipment, processes and technology
- A strong focus on quality, safety and machine reliability

Experience working within an FSSC 22000, HACCP or food-manufacturing environment will be highly regarded. The following will also be highly regarded:

- Restricted Electrical Licence
- Working at Heights certification
- Confined Space certification
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience with high-speed packaging or metal manufacturing equipment
- Previous involvement in machinery installation, commissioning or improvement projects
