We are an Australian-owned flavour house, with operations in both Australia and Vietnam. Established in 1989 as a family-owned business, Essential is now into the second generation of Nielsen management and continues to cherish the family values entrenched by the founder John. Located in Carrum Downs, Victoria, our facility is purpose-built to our requirements and to further expand our capabilities in local and international markets.

Our story still has many pages to be written and we are now seeking a Maintenance Manager toprovide technical support the flavour creations team and help deliver an array of flavour solutions to our customers in a socially ethical, responsible, and sustainable way.
HOW YOU would JAZZ WITH US
Join our team as a dynamic leader driving operational excellence across continuous improvement, people development, and strategic plant management.
· Lead the site's maintenance and reliability function to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
· Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities around production requirements.
· Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs to maximise equipment reliability.
· Manage critical spare parts inventory and maintenance stores.
· Plan and coordinate shutdown maintenance activities.
· Induct, supervise, and manage contractors on site.
· Conduct root cause analysis on major equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving asset performance.
· Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance across all maintenance activities.
· Improve maintenance procedures, systems, and engineering strategies.
· Ensure maintenance records and service history are accurately maintained within the CMMS.
· Troubleshoot and fault-find PLCs, VSDs, sensors, relays, instrumentation, motor control systems, and safety circuits advantages.
· Identify and implement plant improvement opportunities and reliability projects.
· Lead capital projects from concept development and supplier selection through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
· Support GMP, HACCP, and SQF compliance requirements and participate in internal and external audits.
· Manage maintenance budgets and capital expenditure in line with business objectives.
A BIT OUT YOUR BACKGROUND
· Food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other high-compliance manufacturing environments.
· Demonstrated experience in a Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Proven experience using CMMS systems for planning, scheduling, and asset management. Experience with MEX will be highly regarded.
· Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements within a manufacturing environment.
· Experience managing contractors, maintenance budgets, and capital projects.
· Robust troubleshooting and fault-finding experience within automated manufacturing environments.
· Exposure to PLCs, SCADA systems, VSDs, instrumentation, and automation systems.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
