Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Medicine Physician to join the Department of Medicine at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.
This is an excellent chance to join a highly skilled and supportive group of locally based specialists while providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient General Medicine services to a diverse and growing regional population.
The role offers an attractive combination of clinical variety, specialist collegiality, teaching and professional development, with the additional chance to establish privately referred outpatient services from your own consulting rooms in Tamworth.

The Opportunity Based at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, you will provide comprehensive General Medicine services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
You will work alongside a highly experienced physician group and participate in the after-hours General Medicine on-call roster, currently 1:8.
The position provides scope to develop a broad and rewarding General Medicine practice, with opportunities to contribute to teaching, supervision, clinical governance and service development.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality specialist General Medicine services.
- Assess and manage a broad range of acute and complex medical presentations.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations.
- Participate in the General Medicine after-hours on-call roster (1:8).
- Work collaboratively with specialists, junior medical staff, nursing and allied health teams.
- Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Participate in teaching and supervision of medical students and doctors in training.
- Support the development of junior physicians and trainees.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case management and patient-centred care.
- Maintain contemporary clinical practice and ongoing professional development.

Private Consulting Opportunity The role also provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to establish privately referred outpatient General Medicine services from their own consulting rooms in Tamworth.
This provides scope to develop a broader specialist practice alongside your public hospital appointment.

About You To be successful, you will have:

- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA.
- FRACP, or eligibility through an appropriate overseas-trained specialist pathway.
- Recent and comprehensive experience in General Medicine.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, students, medical colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to clinical governance, peer review, quality improvement and patient safety.
- Leadership and management capability, with the ability to adapt to a changing healthcare environment.
- Commitment to professional standards and contemporary evidence-based medicine.
- An interest in teaching, mentoring and developing junior medical staff.
