Our Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and compassionate Individual Differences Teacher to join our Junior School.

Working closely with classroom teachers, the successful candidate will help identify and respond to students’ individual learning needs. They will plan and deliver appropriately differentiated learning experiences, monitor student progress and work collaboratively with colleagues and families to support positive learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The Individual Differences Teacher inspires, challenges and supports Junior School students to achieve their personal best. They create a love of learning, provide exemplary and inclusive learning experiences, and place students at the heart of their practice.

- Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and appropriately differentiated learning experiences

- Supporting students with a range of learning strengths, needs and ability levels

- Catering effectively for the learning needs of EAL students in mainstream classrooms





- Using assessment evidence to identify student needs, monitor progress and inform teaching and intervention

- Contributing to individual learning plans, targeted programs and other appropriate student support strategies

- Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to develop and implement inclusive curriculum initiatives

- Maintaining high expectations for student learning, engagement, behaviour and achievement

- Creating nurturing, orderly, respectful and inclusive learning environments

- Providing timely and constructive feedback to students and keeping families appropriately informed of student progress

- Building positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues and families

- Supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development in ways consistent with the College’s vision and values

- Using learning technologies purposefully to enhance teaching and learning

- Critically reflecting on professional practice and actively seeking opportunities for continued improvement

- Participating positively in staff meetings, professional learning and collaborative planning

- Contributing enthusiastically to the broader life of the College, including co-curricular programs, camps, events and College functions

Successful Applicants Will

- Hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration

- Hold a Bachelor of Education or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

- Have relevant teaching experience and a strong understanding of Junior School pedagogy

- Demonstrate the capacity to recognise and respond effectively to students’ individual learning needs





- Possess strong curriculum knowledge and expertise in differentiated and inclusive teaching practice

- Use evidence, assessment and feedback effectively to strengthen student outcomes

- Demonstrate the ability to support EAL students within mainstream learning environments

- Be passionate about supporting the academic, social and personal development of children

- Create positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environments
