About the role
We are looking for an experienced leader to head ByNCVER, NCVER’s tailored insights & publications service.
This important leadership role will establish, deliver and continuously improve NCVER's ByNCVER service line, transforming the way users access, interpret and apply VET data and insights. The role is responsible for ensuring NCVER's insights, publications and statistical products are timely, robust, engaging and relevant to the needs of members, governments, industry and other stakeholders.
Drawing on a strong understanding of VET data, NCVER's data assets and the broader policy environment, the Manager Insights & Publications will lead the delivery of NCVER's flagship statistical publications, innovative insight products and national survey program. The role will drive continuous improvement across publications, underlying data assets, surveys and methodologies to ensure NCVER remains a trusted authority on VET information and analysis.
Reporting to the Chief Product and Data Officer, the role also provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team of analysts, technical specialists and team leaders, building organisational capability, driving high performance and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
What you will be doing In this role, you will:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for NCVER's ByNCVER branch, contributing to organisational strategy as a member of the NCVER Management Team.
- Lead the delivery of NCVER's flagship statistical publications, VET insights and innovative data products that help stakeholders understand and apply VET data.
- Drive continuous improvement across publications, surveys, methodologies and data assets to ensure products remain relevant, robust and responsive to stakeholder needs.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team, building capability, fostering innovation and driving strong organisational performance.
- Build and maintain influential relationships across government, industry and the education sector, representing NCVER as a trusted authority on VET data and insights.
- Translate complex data and analysis into accessible, engaging information through publications, presentations, events and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Partner with the Managing Director and Chief Product and Data Officer to drive innovation, quality improvement and the growth of NCVER's national statistics, surveys and data services.

What you will bring
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Extensive experience managing complex programs and projects, successfully delivering outcomes within agreed scope, budget and timeframes.
- Strong expertise in the production,
analysis and dissemination of official statistics, including the management of national data collections and survey programs.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights and products for a range of audiences.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present complex information in an accessible and compelling way.
- Well-developed understanding of data, research and survey methodologies, with a commitment to quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Australia's vocational education and training (VET) sector, including national VET data collections and the broader policy environment, will be highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, social sciences or a related discipline are highly desirable.
