Luma is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of Western Australian women since 1977, delivering integrated medical, allied health, mental health, FDV advocacy, health promotion and education across the Perth metropolitan area.
Luma is seeking an experienced and passionate Manager People & Capability to lead the development and delivery of our people & capability functions, with a strong focus on learning and development, employee engagement, and organisational capability.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will partner with leaders across the organisation to deliver strategic people initiatives that support organisational growth, workforce sustainability and employee engagement. You will provide expert advice on all aspects of people management, lead learning and development programs, drive workforce planning initiatives, and contribute to building an inclusive and thriving workplace culture.
What you will do
- People & Capability Leadership: Lead the People & Capability function, providing strategic direction, advice and support across workforce planning, organisational development, employee engagement, learning and development, and people practices.
- Learning & Development: Design, implement and evaluate learning and development initiatives, including leadership development, professional development, compliance training and capability-building programs that support Luma objectives and workforce growth.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Drive culture, engagement and wellbeing initiatives that enhance employee experience, foster inclusion and psychological safety, and support the attraction and retention of a high-performing workforce.
- Employee Relations & Leadership Support: Provide expert guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace investigations, grievances, conflict resolution and disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance and best-practice outcomes.
- Projects & Change Management: Lead People & Capability projects,
including HR systems enhancements, process improvements, workforce initiatives and organisational change activities that improve employee experience and organisational effectiveness.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure people policies, procedures and practices comply with relevant legislation, industrial instruments and organisational requirements while promoting contemporary people management practices.
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Development, Psychology, Learning & Development, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with the ability to coach, influence and develop leaders and teams to achieve organisational objectives.
- Proven experience developing and implementing People & Capability strategies and initiatives that enhance workforce capability, employee engagement and organisational performance.
- Experience designing and implementing learning and development programs, leadership development initiatives and organisational capability frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations principles and contemporary people management practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, grievances and workplace conflict.
- Strong analytical capability, with experience using workforce data, HRIS platforms and people metrics to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- A current National Police Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- Experience in primary health care, women's health,
not-for-profit or community services sectors will be highly regarded.
