Metal Fabricator

Source: uWorkin As a Metal Fabricator with No Limit Group, you will be involved in fabrication and construction-related work, producing quality steel and metal components to project requirements. You'll work alongside our experienced construction and trades teams, contributing to projects across the Canberra region.,

- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding

About The Candidate

- Demonstrated experience as a Metal Fabricator or in a relevant field (2 years)
- You must hold mandatory industry licenses for work in the ACT (White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Silica Awareness Cards)
- Relevant AQF trade qualification
- Strong fabrication skills
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Good understanding of steel and metal fabrication processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- Reliable and professional attitude
