Music Tutor - Cello
Melbourne Grammar School, Grimwade House (Prep - Year 6) is seeking a Cello Music Tutor to teach individual instrumental lessons, lessons within the Year 2 Strings Program and assist with string ensembles. The Cello Music Tutor will work as a member of a highly dedicated Music Department, teaching students in an individual setting and through ensembles.
This role commences in 2027 and will involve sufficient work for 1 day a week to begin, with the expectation for it to rise to 2 days throughout the year.
You will
- Teach individual instrumental lessons
- Prepare students for performances / workshops and Year 2 class for lessons and ensemble.
- Support the Teacher in Charge with teaching repertoire and lessons.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to maintain open communication with parents and colleagues.
- Enjoy interacting with enthusiastic boys and girls who are keen to learn.
- Assist Year 2 String workshops and concerts for rehearsals and performances.
About you
- Completion of a degree in music/instrumental education, or equivalent industry experience is required.
- Experience in teaching Primary School aged students considered an advantage.
- Must hold, or be willing to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, or a valid Employee Working with Children Check.
