We're seeking a compassionate and community-minded Older Persons Action Program (OPAP) Worker to join our team at the Redcliffe Neighbourhood Centre. In this rewarding role, you'll support older people experiencing social isolation, loneliness, housing pressures, and other life challenges through information, advocacy, referrals, community connection, and case management support.

About the Role
As an OPAP Worker, you will provide information, support, advocacy, and community engagement opportunities for older people within the Redcliffe community.
Working within a strengths-based, person-centred, and culturally safe framework, you will:
- Support older people experiencing social isolation, loneliness, or reduced community connection.
- Provide information, advocacy, referrals, and practical support to help people access services and community resources.
- Assist participants to identify goals and strengthen their social participation, wellbeing, and independence.
- Plan and facilitate social inclusion activities, information sessions, and community events.
- Promote participation in Encircle programs and local community initiatives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community organisations and service providers.
- Collaborate with Encircle programs and local stakeholders to improve participant outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and program documentation.
- Contribute to program evaluation, continuous improvement,
and community development initiatives.
About You You are passionate about supporting older people and creating opportunities for connection, inclusion, and community participation.
You will bring:
- Certificate IV in Community Services, Ageing Support, Mental Health, Social Services or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience. A Diploma or tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or a related field is not essential but will be highly regarded.
- Experience working with older people in community services, aged care, health, neighbourhood centres, or social support settings.
- Experience facilitating community activities or programs is desirable but not essential.
- An understanding of the impacts of social isolation, loneliness, and social disadvantage on older people.
- Knowledge of community services, support systems, and referral pathways.
- Experience supporting people to access services and participate in community activities.
- Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Competency using Microsoft Office and client management systems.
- A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and person-centred practice.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Current Blue Card.
- Current National Police Check.
- Full working rights within Australia.
