This established organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join its Melbourne CBD team on an initial six-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys remaining involved in payroll processing while providing leadership and support to one direct report.

Responsibilities Include
- Managing the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll
- Remaining hands on across payroll processing, reconciliations and reporting
- Lead, support and develop one direct report
- Reviewing payroll data and ensuring accuracy before finalisation
- Managing month end and year end payroll activities
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards and internal policies
- Overseeing superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and statutory obligations
- Managing employee and stakeholder payroll queries
- Identifying and implementing payroll process improvements
- Supporting audits and providing payroll reporting when required
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Payroll Manager or senior payroll leadership role
- Strong hands on end to end payroll experience
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring payroll staff
- Excellent understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
- Solid reconciliation, reporting and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to quickly understand new payroll systems and processes
- Availability to commit to a six month fixed term contract
