St Ignatius College Riverview

Lane Cove

Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is seeking an experienced and highly relational Philanthropy Relationship Manager to join our Philanthropy team.

This is an exciting time to join the College as we prepare for a new philanthropic campaign focused on two important priorities: expanding access to a Riverview education through the Bursary Program, and the generational renewal of the College’s First Field precinct. Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Chief Advancement Officer and College leadership, the Philanthropy Relationship Manager will help strengthen a culture of philanthropy across the Riverview community and build meaningful, long-term relationships with those who share the College’s vision and values.

The role will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, working thoughtfully with Old Boys, parents, past parents, grandparents, friends of the College and other members of the Riverview community to develop philanthropic partnerships that support the College’s strategic priorities.

This is an ongoing, full-time position based at the College’s Senior Campus. It will suit an experienced relationship manager who is confident engaging with senior stakeholders and diverse community members. The role involves regular meetings, events and functions, both on and off campus, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.

About Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview Established in 1880, Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is a Catholic, Jesuit boarding and day school for boys from Years 5 to 12, located on Cammeraigal Country on Sydney’s lower north shore. The College is part of a worldwide network of Jesuit schools and universities and is committed to the holistic formation of young people through the pursuit of human excellence, forming students who are competent, committed, compassionate and guided by conscience.

About the Role

- Build and nurture a portfolio of major donor relationships through regular, purposeful engagement.
- Develop thoughtful cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies aligned with donor interests and College priorities.
- Prepare compelling proposals, briefing materials and talking points to support donor conversations.
- Contribute to campaign planning, prospect analysis, gift modelling and pipeline reporting.
- Maintain accurate and considered donor and prospect records in the College’s CRM.
- Ensure philanthropic engagement is undertaken with discretion, integrity and respect for donor intent, privacy and relevant sector standards.

About You You will be an accomplished relationship builder with demonstrated experience in major gift fundraising, philanthropy, relationship management or business development.

Experience in a school, university, not-for-profit or other values-based setting would be welcomed, although sector experience is not essential.

You will bring

- Confidence and sound judgement when engaging with senior stakeholders and high-net-worth individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine ability to build trusted, enduring relationships.
- Experience managing relationships through the full donor journey, from identification and qualification through to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

- Experience working within or supporting a major fundraising or capital campaign would be particularly valuable.
- Experience with a CRM or fundraising database and an understanding of moves management, prospect management and donor lifecycle principles would be highly regarded.
- A tertiary qualification in business, communications, fundraising, not-for-profit management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, would be advantageous.

Why Join Riverview? This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit school with a strong sense of community, history and purpose.

You will work alongside committed colleagues and College leaders to build relationships with members of the Riverview community and help translate their generosity and shared aspirations into meaningful opportunities for students and future generations.

It is an opportunity to be part of something enduring: strengthening access to a Riverview education, supporting the College’s mission and helping shape its future while honouring the traditions and community that have sustained it for generations.
