Rahim Women’s Health Physiotherapy is looking for a passionate Women’s Health Physiotherapist to join our growing practice in a flexible, part-time role.
We are looking for a physiotherapist with experience in women’s and pelvic health who is passionate about providing high-quality, individualised care and building meaningful relationships with their patients.
This is a flexible role giving you the freedom to choose your own working days and hours that work best for your availability.
You will manage a varied caseload across pelvic health, pregnancy, postnatal rehabilitation and musculoskeletal conditions, working with women through different stages of life.
This role offers a high level of clinical independence and autonomy, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable managing their own caseload and has existing foundations in women’s and pelvic health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, individualised physiotherapy assessment and treatment
- Perform internal vaginal examinations and pelvic floor assessments where clinically indicated
- Assess and manage pelvic organ prolapse
- Assess and treat urinary incontinence, including stress and urge incontinence
- Manage overactive bladder, urinary urgency and frequency
- Assess and treat pelvic pain and sexual pain conditions
- Manage pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, including underactive and overactive presentations
- Support women throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period
- Assess and manage pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditions, including pelvic girdle, lower back and hip pain
- Provide postnatal rehabilitation and return-to-exercise programs
- Develop individualised pelvic floor rehabilitation and exercise programs
- Support patients with endometriosis, adenomyosis and persistent pelvic pain
- Provide education around pelvic health, safe exercise, pregnancy, birth preparation and postnatal recovery
- Build robust, trusting and professional relationships with patients
- Maintain clear and accurate clinical documentation
About you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Experience or postgraduate training in Women’s and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy through APA or/and WHTA
- Experience performing internal vaginal examinations and pelvic floor assessments
- Experience managing common pelvic health presentations such as prolapse, incontinence and pelvic pain
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own patient caseload
- Solid clinical reasoning and patient management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A warm, compassionate and patient-centred approach
- A genuine interest in continuing to develop your career in women’s health
- Current Australian working rights
Additional experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Pregnancy and postnatal physiotherapy
- Birth preparation
- Pessary assessment and fitting
- Bowel dysfunction and constipation
- Persistent pelvic pain and sexual pain
- Post-gynaecological surgery rehabilitation
You do not need to be experienced in every area of women’s health. We value strong clinical foundations, the right attitude and a genuine willingness to learn. Pay: $50.00 – $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
