The fellow in Paediatric Diagnostic Imaging will gain knowledge and practical skills in paediatric radiology – including x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI fluoroscopy and interventional procedures and will be based at Queensland Children’s Hospital. There is opportunity within the fellowship to focus on paediatric subspecialty areas, including cardiac imaging, interventional radiology, and foetal imaging.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the and the and the CHQ . Your contribution will include:

Generic Responsibilities

- Undertake regular assessment and performance review, actively participate in unit and facility based educational programs and meet mandatory training requirements.
- Role model professionalism with respect to confidentiality, patient dignity, effective communication at primary patient care level and with staff, and the completion/maintenance of accurate and comprehensive medical records.
- Actively participate in teaching and supervision of Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Undertake skills-based training to support this role.
- Contribute to a positive organisational culture,



role model appropriate behaviour in accordance with the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service and provide Senior Registrar representation on hospital committees.

Specific Responsibilities

- Develop a positive culture within the Division which encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Participate in the provision of Diagnostic Imaging services to the patients of the Children's Health Services District as directed.
- Work as a team member with other members of the Medical Imaging team including radiographers, nursing and administrative staff.
- Conventional radiology and fluoroscopic procedures;
- Ultrasound, including theatre and mobile ultrasound examinations, biopsy and drainage procedures;
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging;
- Ensure that the diagnostic imaging procedures under his/her control are of a high standard and provide clear written reports on examinations for which he/she is responsible.

Research
- Participation in medical imaging department audits and quality improvement projects is expected.
