They deliver a range of projects, minor works, installation, servicing, and maintenance across commercial, healthcare, education, aged care, and multi-residential environments.

With continued project wins and a strong pipeline of work, the business is looking to add an experienced fire qualified to their Brisbane team. They pride themselves on quality workmanship, compliance, safety, and delivering projects to a high standard.

Position

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Fire Technician / Electrician to join the projects and minor works team.

This is a hands-on position focused primarily on the installation, fit-off, testing and completion of dry fire systems across commercial projects. You will work across a variety of sites, completing installations and minor works while ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant standards.

Responsibilities

- Installing and fit-off of dry fire systems across commercial projects.
- Installation of fire detection, alarm, emergency warning and associated fire services equipment.
- Completing minor works, upgrades, additions and modifications to existing systems.
- Running and terminating fire cabling, installing containment, equipment and field devices.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, fire plans and project documentation.
- Testing installations and assisting with commissioning and handover.
- Identifying and rectifying installation issues and ensuring quality workmanship.
- Completing project documentation, testing records and relevant compliance paperwork.
- Working closely with project managers, builders, electricians and other trades on-site.




- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Australian Standards, project specifications and site safety requirements.

Candidate

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing commercial dry fire systems and be comfortable working across projects and minor works. You will take pride in your workmanship, have strong attention to detail and be capable of working independently or as part of a project team.

The key attributes of an ideal candidate would include:

- QLD Electrical Licence and/or relevant QBCC Fire Occupational Licence.
- Proven experience installing commercial dry fire systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with fire detection and alarm installations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and fire system drawings.
- Experience with fire cabling, fit-off, containment and field devices.
- Understanding of AS 1670, AS 1851 and relevant fire system requirements.
- Ability to complete minor works, additions and system modifications.
- Current manual driver's licence and White Card.
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working on commercial sites.
