Project Manager - Infrastructure & Facilities
Location: Parkes, ACT
Contract: Initial Contract to 30th Jun2027 (possible extension options available for the right candidate, pending budget decisions as always)
Pay: $90 - $120 p/h including super (negotiable)
Work type: Full-time
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current Baseline clearance or above
About the Role
This is a client-side project management role with our Federal Government client. You will lead complex building, construction, infrastructure and facilities works in a public-facing operational environment.
You will manage projects from planning and scope development through procurement, contract administration and delivery. You will own budgets, risks, project controls, contractor performance and stakeholder coordination while keeping safety, quality and value for money in focus.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead complex building and infrastructure capital projects from planning through delivery
- Develop project plans and manage budgets, project controls, risks and quality
- Lead Commonwealth procurement, tender documentation and evaluation processes
- Administer contracts and service agreements and address contractor performance
- Work with operational teams, technical specialists, consultants and contractors
- Supervise project delivery,
set priorities and support team capability
- Prepare reports, briefs, analysis and specialist project advice
- Improve project governance, reporting and delivery practices
- Coordinate works to minimise disruption to an operating public facility
What You Bring (Essential Criteria)
- You've managed building, construction, infrastructure or facilities projects in a complex operational environment
- You've personally managed projects across planning, delivery, budgets, controls and risk
- You've led procurement, tendering and contract administration
- You can manage contractor performance while maintaining quality, safety and compliance
- You work effectively with consultants, contractors, technical specialists and operational teams
- You can obtain or hold current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration before starting
- You're an Australian citizen
- You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above
Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)
- Experience with asset management or facilities operations
- Capital works experience in a public-facing or continuously operating facility
- Experience supervising project teams and building capability
- Flexibility for occasional agreed out-of-hours or weekend project work
