SALARY: $99,839 - 114,434 p.a + Super + Leaseback Vehicle

Camden Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Landscape Officer to play a key role in protecting and enhancing our urban canopy and green infrastructure network.
Working within our Urban Forest Services team, you will provide specialist technical advice on landscape design, development assessment, urban forestry and environmental outcomes, helping to create connected, sustainable and liveable spaces for our growing community.

Essential:
- Tertiary degree qualification, together with extensive relevant experience in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Arboriculture or a related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to provide specialist technical advice on landscape design, tree management, vegetation management, and urban canopy matters
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, planning controls, Australian Standards, and industry best practice relating to landscape assessment, tree management and urban forest outcomes
- Demonstrated experience using GIS, asset management systems, landscape design software, graphic design software, or other spatial and technical applications relevant to the role
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and mentor and provide technical guidance while contributing effectively to a team-oriented, high-performing multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make informed recommendations
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Experience working in local government, planning, development assessment or regulatory environment
- Experience in compliance investigations, tree preservation matters or the resolution of complex vegetation management issues
- Demonstrated experience managing consultants, contractors or multidisciplinary projects
