Sutherland Shire Council is seeking an experienced and people-focused leader to join our Recycling and Waste Services team asCoordinator Waste Operations.

Reporting to the Waste Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of waste operations, managing people, plant, equipment and logistics to ensure safe, efficient and reliable services for our community.

What you'll be doing

- Leading and developing a high-performing operational team.
- Managing daily transport, logistics and resource allocation.
- Driving a strong culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring performance, budgets and service delivery outcomes.
- Building productive relationships with staff, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring waste services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

About you

You are a visible and engaging leader with experience managing frontline operational teams in a rapid-paced environment. You bring strong safety knowledge, excellent communication skills and a passion for achieving results through people.

You'll also have:

- Qualifications in Logistics, Business, Project Management or equivalent operational experience.
- Construction White Card.
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- Strong experience in operational leadership, transport, logistics or service delivery.
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS, HVNL and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and budget management skills.

- Package:$111,776 - $124,574 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Plus an award vehicle allowance of $10,780 gross p.a will be paid.
