About the role

We are seeking a Civil Construction Operator and Truck Driver to join our team on a casual basis in Newton, SA 5074. This role combines heavy plant operation with professional truck driving, offering variety and flexibility for someone with dual skill sets in the construction and transport sectors. You will be responsible for operating heavy machinery on construction sites whilst also providing reliable transport services for materials and equipment. This position is essential to keeping our projects running efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

- Operating heavy plant and machinery on civil construction sites, including excavators, bobcat, graders, and other earthmoving equipment

- Transporting materials, equipment, and machinery to and from job sites in a safe and professional manner

- Conducting pre-operation checks on all plant and vehicles to ensure safe working conditions

- Maintaining accurate records of plant operations, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance

- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements

- Communicating effectively with site supervisors and other team members

- Following company policies and industry best practices

- Assisting with basic maintenance tasks on plant and vehicles as required

What we're looking for





- Current Heavy Rigid (HR) or Articulated (Artic) truck driver's licence

- Demonstrable experience operating heavy plant machinery and construction equipment

- Proven truck driving experience with a solid safety record

- Valid First Aid Certificate

- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain one

- Competency in relevant plant operation certifications (such as Excavator or Dozer tickets) or equivalent demonstrated experience

- Solid safety awareness and commitment to adhering to workplace health and safety standards

- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

- Reliability and punctuality

- Ability to work independently and follow instructions from supervisors

- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual duties
