Deputy Head of Campus | Senior School
1.0 FTE | 3-year leadership appointment | Up to 0.3 FTE teaching allotment | Underlying ongoing Secondary Teacher position
Christian College Geelong is seeking an inspiring, relational and forward-thinking educational leader to join our Senior School leadership team as Deputy Head of Campus – Teaching and Learning. This is a three-year leadership appointment, with up 0.3FTE of the full-time role consisting of a teaching role. This appointment carries an underlying, ongoing secondary teaching position.

With a teaching allotment of up to 0.3 FTE, you will continue to experience first-hand the opportunities and challenges of contemporary teaching while influencing teaching and learning more broadly across the Senior School.

As Deputy Head of Campus – Teaching and Learning, you will work closely with the Head of Campus to provide strategic and operational leadership across the Senior School, with particular responsibility for the quality, direction and ongoing development of teaching and learning.
You will:
- Champion excellent teaching, creating the conditions for staff to deliver engaging, evidence-informed learning that drives student growth and achievement.
- Shape the Senior Years academic program, drawing on educational research, emerging practice and student needs to continually strengthen our curriculum and learning opportunities.
- Lead with evidence,
using student achievement data and other insights to identify priorities, inform strategic decision-making and support targeted improvement.
- Grow people and leadership capability, mentoring teachers and emerging leaders and encouraging qualified curiosity, reflection and continuous improvement.
- Build a culture of high expectations, where excellence, responsibility, self-discipline, creativity and mutual respect are reflected in everyday learning.
- Lead curriculum, assessment and reporting practices, ensuring students, staff and families experience clear, meaningful and contemporary approaches.
- Drive innovation, exploring opportunities that enrich student learning, broaden pathways and prepare young people for life beyond school.
- Collaborate across the College, working with Faculty Directors, Faculty Coordinators and leaders in Teaching and Learning, Staff Development, Digital Learning and Learning Enhancement.
- Contribute to whole-campus leadership, supporting the Head of Campus and Senior School leadership team to provide an outstanding educational and pastoral environment for students and staff.
- Lead with Christian purpose, modelling servant leadership and actively contributing to the Christian culture, life and mission of our College community.
The leader we are looking for
You may already be an experienced school leader, or you may be an outstanding educator who is ready to take a significant next step. Either way, you will bring more than technical knowledge of curriculum and teaching practice. You will be someone who can inspire confidence, bring people with you and turn educational vision into meaningful action.
We are looking for a leader who:
- has significant and successful Secondary teaching experience, ideally with a strong understanding of Senior Years education
- demonstrates educational leadership experience and a genuine passion for improving teaching and learning
- thinks strategically while remaining highly connected to students, teachers and the everyday life of a school
- has the capacity to interpret data, research and educational evidence and translate this into improved practice
- builds strong relationships and leads through collaboration, trust and influence
- is energised by developing others and creating opportunities for colleagues to grow
- embraces innovation, change and new ideas with thoughtfulness and sound judgement
- communicates with warmth, clarity and confidence
- demonstrates resilience, integrity, empathy and reflective practice
- is committed to their own ongoing development as an educator and leader
- actively supports the Christian ethos, mission, vision and values of Christian College Geelong.
