About the role

This is a flexible position suited to an experienced electrician, supervisor, electrical contractor or semi-retired electrical professional. You will act as the nominated Qualified Technical Person (QTP) and provide genuine technical oversight of the electrical work undertaken by the business. The role is primarily focused on technical supervision, compliance and supporting the continued development of electrical systems and procedures, rather than being a full-time tools-based position.

Key responsibilities

- Acting as the nominated Qualified Technical Person

- Providing technical oversight and supervision of electrical work where required

- Ensuring electrical work is completed in accordance with applicable Queensland legislation, Australian Standards and company procedures

- Reviewing electrical procedures, SWMS and safe systems of work

- Providing technical advice when required

- Reviewing testing, verification and electrical documentation

- Conducting periodic reviews/audits of electrical work and company systems

- Assisting with maintaining high standards of electrical safety and compliance

- Supporting the development of the company's electrical contracting operations

About you

- Holds a current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence





- Meets the Queensland requirements to be nominated as a QTP on an Electrical Contractor Licence

- Holds the required current QTP competencies

- Has strong knowledge of Queensland electrical legislation and AS/NZS 3000

- Has robust electrical testing, verification and fault-finding knowledge

- Takes electrical safety and compliance seriously

- Is comfortable providing technical guidance and mentoring

- Can communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the Managing Director and electricians

- Experience within mining, CHPP, industrial maintenance, infrastructure or heavy industry would be highly regarded but is not essential

- Previous experience as a QTP, electrical contractor, supervisor or senior electrician would also be highly regarded
