About the role

We want a person who wants to work in a workplace that is personable, friendly, fast paced at times and fully customer focused. We are looking to fill a part time or full time position. We are looking for the right person who fits our culture. The work involves anything and everything to do with working in a butcher shop, except butchering.

You will be working with a small group of people that laugh and have fun in between getting their work done. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions, and supporting the broader operations of our busy retail store.

What you'll be doing





- Providing a friendly and welcoming experience for all customers.

- It's a very broad interesting role and is perfect for a vibrant, fun, friendly, conscientious person. The role varies depending on the time of day, amount of customers instore and what is required to get ready for the next customer flow.

- Accurately process sales transactions and handling cash, card, and mobile payments.

- Assisting customers with product enquiries and providing recommendations.

- Restocking and maintaining the presentation of our retail displays.

- Following instructions. Be willing to listen and learn until you can offer a better way.

- Flexible break times.

- Willing to work at the front or back of the shop based on what is required.

- Be able to read the flow of work and do what is most required.

- Supporting the overall operations of the store as required, you may clean the shelves, sweep the floor, make coffees, take out cardboard and rubbish and even make lunch. We have busy times and quiet times all in the same day.

What we're looking for

- Previous customer service or retail experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment is preferable but not essential.



We would like a someone who is open to be taught, who takes and follows instructions, wants to learn, always listening and looks for the next job to do.

- Someone who can focus and start and finish a job, not get sidetracked or look for the easier job to do.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and helpful attitude

- Excellent cash handling skills

- Ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Versatile and adaptable, with a willingness to take on a range of tasks

- There is a compulsory three-month probationary period. Constant feedback given, questions asked. We want the successful candidate to want the job, to want to work with us, not a person just filling in time.
