HR & WHS Adviser / Partner – Manufacturing
Location: Epping, Melbourne VIC
Employment: Full-time
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
About the role
We are a well-established manufacturing business based in Epping, looking for an experienced HR & WHS Adviser / Partner to join our team.
This is a hands-on advisory role, working closely with management and employees across the business. We are looking for someone who can provide practical HR and WHS advice, help us maintain compliance, support our people and contribute to a positive, safe and productive workplace.
We are looking for an experienced professional who enjoys being on the floor, working with people and providing practical solutions to day-to-day HR and WHS matters.
Key responsibilities
- Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees
- Assist with employee relations, performance management and workplace matters
- Support recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
- Provide advice on policies, procedures and employment legislation
- Assist with WHS compliance and continuous improvement
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety reviews
- Support incident investigations, corrective actions and injury management
- Assist with workers compensation and return-to-work matters
- Maintain HR and WHS documentation, registers and systems
- Support training, inductions and employee awareness programs
- Monitor legislative and regulatory requirements and help ensure ongoing compliance
- Work collaboratively with management to identify and resolve people and safety issues
About you
You will be an experienced HR and WHS professional who is comfortable working in a manufacturing or other operational environment.
You will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant HR and WHS experience
- Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications in Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and WHS requirements
- Experience dealing with employee relations and workplace issues
- Practical experience with WHS systems, risk assessments and incident management
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or similar hands-on environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A practical, approachable and solutions-focused attitude
- The ability to work independently while partnering effectively with management and employees
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
