What you will do

- Source and evaluate Perth suppliers on price, lead time, quality and reliability

- Know who actually stocks and who only on-sells — particularly stainless, aluminium and steel

- Raise, track and close out purchase orders

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery dates

- Chase deliveries and manage shortages.

- Maintain accurate purchase, price and supplier records

- Work with the workshop, Project managers and the Director on what is needed and when.

- Coordinate freight and inbound deliveries.

- Resolve shortages, quality issues, returns and invoice queries

- Look for cost savings without compromising grade, finish or lead time

- Keep procurement tidy and compliant with company process

- Oversight of the stores.

About you

You must know the Perth supply market for metals. That is not optional.

You will bring:





- At least 5 years in procurement, purchasing or supply in manufacturing, fabrication and engineering.

- Working knowledge of stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel and common hardware would be helpful.

- Existing relationships — or the ability to build them quickly — with Perth stockists, extruders, processors and glass suppliers

- Robust negotiation and a commercial head

- Confidence working alone, setting your own priorities and reporting to the Director

- Accurate, organised administration and solid Excel

- Experience with a purchasing system is useful although Metforce has it’s own.

- A driver’s licence and willingness to visit suppliers when needed
