Head of Growth & Business Development – Private Healthcare

Strathfield, NSW

Full-time | Base + Super + Up to $20,000 Annual Performance Incentive

Lead the Next Stage of Growth of an Expanding Specialist Healthcare Group

Mind Oasis Clinic (https://mindoasis.com.au/) is seeking an experienced Head of Growth & Business Development to take end-to-end ownership of our growth strategy and its execution.

Established in 2020, Mind Oasis Clinic is a growing specialist healthcare group providing psychiatry and related mental health services, with a presence in Sydney and Melbourne and an Australia-wide telehealth footprint.

As we enter our next phase of growth, we are looking for a senior healthcare growth leader with the experience and commercial capability to help us scale sustainably.

This is not a traditional Marketing Manager role.

You will be accountable for the commercial outcomes of our growth strategy — including patient and referral growth, psychiatrist and clinician growth, marketing performance, business development, strategic partnerships, revenue growth and future expansion opportunities.

You will have internal and external resources available to execute the strategy. Your responsibility is to provide the leadership, direction, commercial discipline and accountability required to deliver measurable results.

What You Will Own

Patient & Referral Growth

Own and grow our patient and healthcare referral channels, including:

- GP and specialist referrals

- Referrer engagement and reactivation

- GP outreach and educational initiatives

- Digital patient acquisition

- Local area marketing

- Healthcare partnerships

- Referral conversion and performance

Build a structured and measurable referral growth engine across our markets.

Psychiatrist & Clinician Growth

Patient growth must be supported by clinician capacity.

Working with our recruitment and clinical teams, you will help drive:

- Psychiatrist and clinician growth

- Workforce and capacity planning

- Geographic and specialty requirements

- Clinician utilisation

- Recruitment priorities

- Alignment between patient demand and available clinical capacity

You will be accountable for ensuring that clinician capacity supports the organisation's growth objectives.

Marketing Leadership

Own the overall marketing strategy and commercial performance across:

- SEO and organic search

- PPC / Google Ads

- Website and conversion optimisation

- Social media

- Email and CRM marketing

- Google Business Profiles

- Medical directories

- Content and local area marketing

- Referral marketing

- Growth and service campaigns

You are not expected to personally execute graphic design, website development, social posting or technical SEO.

You will lead internal marketing resources and external specialist agencies, establish priorities and budgets, set KPIs, review performance and ensure marketing investment produces measurable commercial outcomes.

Business Development & Partnerships

Identify and develop strategic growth opportunities with:

- GP and specialist networks

- Hospitals and healthcare organisations

- Corporate and institutional partners

- Allied health providers

- Other healthcare and referral partners

Build a measurable business development pipeline and take ownership of converting opportunities into commercial outcomes.

Revenue, Capacity & Commercial Growth

Use data to identify where the business can grow and where growth is being constrained.

Monitor and improve key measures including:

- Revenue

- Referral volumes

- Patient appointments

- Referral conversion

- Clinician capacity and utilisation

- Revenue per clinician and clinic

- Marketing ROI

- Growth investment performance

Growth will be measured by commercial outcomes, not simply marketing activity.

Growth, New Clinic Development & Expansion

Take end-to-end ownership of approved new clinic development projects, from initial opportunity assessment and site identification through to fit-out, launch and operational readiness.

This is not limited to preparing a business case. Once a new clinic or growth project is approved, you will be expected to personally drive and coordinate the project from start to finish, engaging the appropriate internal and external specialists as required.

Responsibilities may include:

- Conducting market, catchment and competitor analysis

- Assessing referral potential, clinician availability and commercial viability

- Identifying suitable locations and coordinating property/site searches

- Working with commercial property agents and landlords

- Assessing potential sites against operational and commercial requirements

- Coordinating due diligence and supporting lease/commercial negotiations

- Developing the overall project plan, budget and implementation timeline

- Engaging and coordinating designers, architects, consultants, builders and fit-out contractors

- Working with relevant specialists on planning, compliance, approvals and healthcare-specific requirements

- Reviewing project progress, timelines, budgets and key deliverables

- Coordinating internal stakeholders and external suppliers

- Identifying delays, risks and cost overruns early and driving corrective action

- Coordinating equipment, technology and other operational requirements with the relevant teams

- Ensuring clinician recruitment, referral development and marketing activities are aligned with the planned opening

- Developing and executing the pre-opening and launch strategy

- Driving the project through to clinic readiness and successful opening

- Monitoring the commercial ramp-up of the clinic following launch

You are expected to own the project, coordinate the relevant specialists (e.g. architect, designer, builder, accountant or other technical professional) , follow up relentlessly, solve problems and ensure that the project progresses from approval to opening.

For commercial assessment and investment decisions, you will work closely with the organisation's accountant/finance function on forecasts, financial modelling, budgets, break-even analysis and investment analysis.

You must have sufficient commercial and financial acumen to understand these models, challenge assumptions and make evidence-based recommendations to the Managing Director and owners.

Our objective is to develop a repeatable and disciplined approach to opening and growing future healthcare locations.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who has already demonstrated growth within private healthcare, rather than someone looking to gain their first healthcare growth experience.

Ideally, you will bring:

- 8+ years' experience in private healthcare, specialist medical services or a closely related healthcare environment

- Senior experience across growth,

business development, commercial management or general management

- Demonstrated experience growing revenue, patients, referrals, clinicians or market share

- Strong understanding of healthcare referral pathways and GP/referrer engagement

- Experience within a multi-site healthcare organisation

- Commercial understanding of clinician capacity and utilisation

- Strong understanding of healthcare marketing and digital patient acquisition

- Experience managing marketing budgets, internal resources and external agencies

- Experience leading or coordinating new healthcare site openings, from site identification through fit-out and launch

- Ability to manage multiple external stakeholders including property agents, designers, architects, consultants, builders and suppliers

- Robust project management capability and the ability to drive complex projects through to completion

- Strong commercial and analytical capability

- Experience leading commercial business cases and working with finance teams on forecasts, financial modelling and investment analysis

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Experience in specialist healthcare, private hospitals, medical centres, radiology, pathology, fertility, mental health, allied health or other multi-site healthcare services would be particularly relevant.

Highly Regarded

We would particularly like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate experience in:

- Scaling a multi-site healthcare organisation

- Personally leading healthcare site openings from planning through to launch

- Greenfield healthcare development and fit-out projects

- Geographic expansion

- Direct P&L; responsibility

- Significant GP/referrer network development

- Doctor or clinician workforce growth

- Growing underutilised clinical capacity

- High-growth healthcare organisations

We Want to Hear What You Have Actually Grown

During the recruitment process, we will be interested in measurable examples such as:

- Revenue growth you personally led

- Growth in patient or referral volumes

- Growth in clinician numbers

- Improvements in clinician utilisation

- Healthcare locations you personally helped identify, establish and open

- Number and scale of new-site projects delivered

- Size of P&L; or growth budget managed

- Commercial results achieved from marketing or business development initiatives

What Success Looks Like

This role has clear ownership and accountability.

Success will be measured through tangible improvements in:

Patients → Referrals → Clinicians → Utilisation → Revenue → Sustainable Growth

It will also be measured by the successful development and delivery of approved growth projects, including bringing new healthcare locations from concept and site selection through to successful opening and commercial ramp-up.

The Managing Director and owners will set the overall strategic direction and approve major investments.

You will own the growth plan and its execution.

We are looking for someone who can identify what needs to happen, build the plan, mobilise the right resources and deliver the result — without requiring the Managing Director to personally drive individual marketing, referral, growth or new-site development initiatives.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV together with a brief cover letter outlining your relevant healthcare growth experience.

We are particularly interested in hearing about what you have personally grown, scaled, built or opened and the measurable commercial results you achieved.
