About the role

The Chef will prepare and cook menu items and support the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen. This is an opportunity to work in a professional café setting with a strong focus on fresh food, consistency, and quality.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Planning and assisting with the development of menus and seasonal menu items.
- Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation.
- Maintaining consistency in portion sizes, taste and presentation.
- Estimating food requirements and assisting with food and labour cost control.
- Ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies and monitoring stock levels.
- Receiving, checking and properly storing food deliveries.
- Working closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.
- Providing guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation and cooking procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.





About you

- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
- Experience working with breakfast, brunch and lunch menus.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy service environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen and front-of-house team.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to work.
