About TIIS
The Institute of International Studies (TIIS) is an Australian higher education provider delivering career-focused programs to domestic and international students.
As TIIS continues to strengthen its governance, quality assurance and regulatory capability, we are seeking an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager to support the institution's next stage of development.
About the role
The Quality and Compliance Manager will provide institution-wide leadership and oversight across quality assurance, regulatory compliance, risk management and governance monitoring. This is an important second-line assurance role responsible for strengthening TIIS's institutional self-assurance framework and supporting ongoing compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021, AQF, ESOS Act, National Code and other applicable regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Management Team, Academic Board, Audit & Risk Committee and Board of Directors while maintaining appropriate independence in compliance monitoring and assurance.
Key responsibilities
- Maintaining TIIS's compliance and self-assurance framework against the HESF 2021 and other regulatory requirements
- Supporting TEQSA re-registration, accreditation, monitoring and regulatory submissions
- Monitoring ESOS, National Code and PRISMS compliance
- Maintaining compliance mappings, evidence registers and regulatory records
- Monitoring AQF alignment, academic quality and course compliance
- Maintaining the institutional policy register and monitoring policy review and approval cycles
- Maintaining and reviewing compliance and regulatory risk registers
- Coordinating internal and external audits and monitoring corrective actions
- Providing regular compliance and assurance reports to the Board,
Audit & Risk Committee, Academic Board and management
- Overseeing compliance breaches, incidents and systemic issues, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
About you
- Substantial experience in quality assurance, compliance, governance or risk management, preferably within Australian higher education
- Strong knowledge of TEQSA and the HESF 2021
- Sound knowledge of the AQF, ESOS Act, National Code and CRICOS requirements
- Experience with institutional self-assurance, regulatory submissions, audits and evidence management
- Understanding of academic governance, course accreditation and quality assurance processes
- Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance and risk registers and monitor corrective actions
- Strong analytical, written and reporting skills
- Confidence to provide independent advice to senior management and governance bodies
- Practical, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
