We’re an Australian-owned brand with big ambitions. We’ve opened our first store in the heart of Newtown, and this is only the beginning. As CUSS enters its next stage of growth, we’re building a team of people who want to grow alongside us and play a genuine part in what we’re creating.

We’re now looking for an experienced Full-Time Assistant Manager to join our Newtown team, with a clear pathway to becoming Store Manager.

THE ROLE

You’ll be right in the middle of the action — leading the team, supporting the Store Manager and making sure every shift delivers the experience and quality CUSS is known for.

This is a hands-on leadership position. One minute you might be coaching a team member, the next managing a busy service, checking product quality, solving a problem or jumping straight onto the floor to help the team.

You’ll take ownership across:

- Day-to-day store operations

- Leading shifts and keeping service running smoothly

- Training, coaching and developing the team

- Delivering an exceptional customer experience

- Rostering and labour management

- Stock control, ordering and inventory

- Store KPIs and performance

- Food safety, cleanliness and presentation

- Opening and closing procedures

- Maintaining consistent product quality

- Creating a positive, accountable and fun team culture

- Taking ownership of the store in the Store Manager’s absence

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

Has at least 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Manager or equivalent hospitality management position

Has strong leadership experience in hospitality, QSR, cafés, restaurants or high-volume retail

Is genuinely passionate about people and building a great team culture

Thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment

Leads from the front and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty

Understands rostering, labour management, stock control and KPIs

Holds high standards for customer service, cleanliness and product quality

Is organised, reliable and takes ownership

Can communicate confidently with both team members and customers

Brings positive energy to every shift

Is ambitious and hungry to develop into a Store Manager

Has flexibility to work across days, evenings and weekends

QSR or high-volume hospitality experience will be highly regarded.
