About the role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Agricultural Engineer to optimise our agricultural operations, engineering infrastructure and machinery assets. In this pivotal role you will apply engineering principles to enhance farming practices, design machinery solutions, and oversee critical irrigation and drainage infrastructure — increasing operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and driving technological advancement across our farm operations.

Key responsibilities

- Design, plan and evaluate new agricultural machinery, and modifications to existing equipment, to suit specific crop requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimal functioning of the specialised machinery essential to harvesting, spraying and daily operations.
- Analyse operational data to develop engineering solutions that increase efficiency, minimise machinery downtime and improve overall farm productivity.
- Design, plan and monitor advanced water drainage and automated irrigation systems for optimal crop health and resource conservation.
- Research and implement industry technological advancements and sustainable farming practices.
- Provide professional evaluations, technical advice and regular process updates to the Farm Manager and operational teams.




- Ensure all engineering activities and machinery operations comply with relevant technical standards, environmental regulations and WHS requirements.

About you

- A Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Proven professional experience as an Agricultural Engineer within a commercial farming or horticultural environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in CAD technologies, machinery design and irrigation engineering.
- Sound knowledge of environmental regulations, water storage and waste management practices.
- Excellent analytical, critical-thinking and investigative research skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to deliver professional evaluations and technical guidance to team members.
- A valid Australian driver's licence and Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card).
